Real Madrid were considering the possibility of keeping Achraf Hakimi, who spent the 2019/20 season on loan with Borussia Dortmund, in Madrid to provide cover and competition for right-back Dani Carvajal, but the 21-year-old is now set to join Inter Milan on a permanent basis.
According to , Hakimi s imminent move to Italy seems to have opened the door for Alvaro Odriozola to get a chance instead. The 24-year-old was also in Germany, but only for the second half of the season where he had been on loan with Bayern Munich. But unlike Hakimi, Odriozola didn t make much impact in the Bundesliga, playing only four times for the Bavarians in the German top flight. He will, however, stay in Munich until Bayern s Champions League campaign is over. After that, he will return to the Spanish capital.
Real head coach Zinedine Zidane has apparently been worried about not having a natural replacement for Carvajal, but with Odriozola coming back, that problem of his should be resolved.
